Marine Biology

Teacher: Erin Hynes

Marine Biology is a three-year program that will give students a fun hands on introduction into ocean science. Over the course of this program students will enjoy learning about the basics of oceanography, marine biology, and ecology, as well as the exciting technologies and sampling techniques used by scientists and professionals in these fields. Students will have the opportunity to study fascinating marine animals and habitats by maintaining classroom aquariums and conducting field studies in various Rhode Island saltwater environments. This course is ideal for students who love the ocean and simply want to gain a better understanding of the marine environment, or for students interested in pursuing a career in the ocean science, marine biology, environmental science, ecology, or biology fields.

** Students will receive the EPHS Biology credit after completion of three years in the  marine biology program.
