Culinary Students Take Home the Gold at the RI ProStart Invitational

On Thursday, February 15th, for the first time ever, the East Providence Career and Technical Center brought competitors to the RI ProStart Invitational. Chef Walker coached two teams from the EPCTC in the ProStart Management competition against 7 other teams from CTCs across the state.

The Global Grill team was short-handed due to illness and made our school proud by competing hard and showing great attitude and Townie Pride throughout. Ian Ferriera & Kyle Xavier fell short of a victory but earned the respect and admiration of the judges as well as their peers.
The Krazy Kabob team planned, practiced and prepared for three and a half months for the competition. All of their hard work paid off, as they left the competition in the dust and brought home the Gold Medal and qualified to compete in the National Competition which takes place in April.
The Krazy Kabob team Members are Sidney Robertson, Luana Rodrigues, Nayelle Viera & Shelby Wilkerson.
